Note : I am planning to spend a year in Yangshuo, China with my teacher and so won't be teaching local classes for a while. I plan to return around November 2008 at the moment, after my Tai Chi Holiday in Turkey.

EasternPeace Summer Class Schedule 2007 held in the UK

1) Six Week Yang Style 24 Intensive Course: 6/8/07- 14/9/07

For the of Summer 2007, I've decided to host an intensive Yang Style Tai Chi Course which will consist of 18 hours of Yang Style 24 training.

I believe with this level of teaching that I will be able to really introduce beginners to Yang Style Tai Chi, to a degree that they are able to independently practice on their own afterwards.

The course will last for 6 weeks and include 12 evening classes and 2 Saturday morning classes.

One evening class will be taught indoors at Horsell Village Hall on Mondays throughout August, and other classes will be taught outdoors on Pyrford Common probably on Wednesdays. I will offer alternative evenings or contact time if classes have to be cancelled because of the weather.
If I have sufficient students I will consider hiring a second indoor venue for the course.

Each evening class will consist of a 1 Hour Tai Chi Form Class.

This will be preceded by a 1 Hour (50min+tea break?) Foundation Class which may also be attended if desired (not included in course fee)(see EasternPeace Teaching Methodolgy)

I will also teach intensively for two Saturday mornings to bring the Tai Chi sequence together.

If individuals are not able to attend a specific evening, I don't mind if you attend one of my open classes instead but please do try and come to the classes as its better if the whole group learns and progresses together.

Course Cost

The course will be charged at my standard rate of £5 per hour and so the 18 hour course will cost
£90 in total.

This course has a class size limit and I will offer the places to the first fourteen people who enrol.
I'm not sure yet  how many people will be interested so for the moment I just request people to contact me and discuss their needs.

Horsell Village hall is an ideal setting for Tai Chi if you have to be indoors - a high airy roof style hall with good floor space.

I've prepared some maps to help you find Horsell Parish Hall - they are printable 'File/Print':

Note : On occasion I may use the Maybury Centre Hall instead - I will give notice of this, as Horsell is occasionally used for functions. They have a reasonable size car park. Maybury Centre Local Map

2) Foundation Tai Chi and Qi Gong Open Classes

For the same period mentioned above -  the week of 6/8/07 to the week of 10/9/07 I will also be offering Foundation Tai Chi and Qi Gong Classes  - (see EasternPeace Teaching Methodolgy for more information on the class content)

There will be two of these a week prior to the Tai Chi Course described above and probably one more offered on another evening.

These classes will be open for anyone to join and my class size doesn't need to be limited so things can be more flexible without compromising the class quality.

I still prefer though that people purchase  4 class 'tickets' at a time though, which can then be used for any of the classes. This hopefully ensures more commitment and gives me less administration work.
The cost will be £20 for the four classes.

There is no problem in turning up for your first class to 'try' it out and just paying for that class if you don't feel it's what you want at that moment.

The classes will last
for 1 hour and will be held either indoors or outdoors.

For Monday's in August I've hired Horsell Village Hall and then I will either teach outdoors on Wednesdays at Pyrford Common near West Byfleet or I will hire a venue for this evening near West Byfleet. This depends on the class size.

3)  Tai Chi Form Open Classes

I hope to offer one Open Evening Class and some Sunday Morning Classes Outdoors on Pyrford Common just as I've done in previous years. These are supplementary practice classes open to all who have learnt some Tai Chi with me now or before.

If you are a beginner and just want to attend one or more of these classes please discuss it with me before turning up by email.

These classes are less formal and we just have to go with the weather but its very important to me to introduce people to doing Tai Chi outdoors where you are able to feel connection with the natural energy around you.

I will encourage individuals to practice by themselves in these classes as far as they are able and will move between students giving one-one attention as best I can with the class numbers that I have on that day.
But I Ieave myself free to teach whatever seems useful on the day.

The  cost will be
£7.50 for an hour and a half class.

If the weather looks dubious I request people to check with me on my mobile before setting out, as I may have to cancel at short notice.

Also please check on my website beforehand in case I have to cancel a Sunday etc. for other activities.

4) Private Classes

If 1 or 2 people want to have a private class then I am offering lessons at times other than my scheduled class times.

This may be either to give your Tai Chi practice a kick start or develop your practice further.
It may also be a chance to decide if Tai Chi is something you want in your life.

Generally I have been meeting individuals on Pyrford Common, though I may be able to visit you at your home if its local, possibly with an extra charge for home visiting.

I am currently charging £25 for one person for one hour, or
£30 for two people for an hour.
Please email me or call me for more information if you are interested.
